The nonprofit arts organization, Express Yourself Milwaukee, will open its doors to the community for an afternoon of music, dancing, visual art, and video. The event includes performances and art by youth from Project Q, St. Aemilian-Lakeside School, Project STAY: New School for Community Service, New Horizons Girls Center, and the Milwaukee County Juvenile Detention Center.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to create art, sing, and dance. Refreshments will be served.
The Open House is Saturday, December 15, 2012: 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at 3331 West Lisbon Ave (at 34th Street) Milwaukee, WI 53208
Express Yourself Milwaukee (EYM) is a nonprofit arts organization that celebrates the power of the creative arts to transform the lives of underserved urban youth in Milwaukee. Working with 8 local partner organizations, EYM uses art, with a therapeutic underpinning, as an intervention tool, focusing on youth resilience as a way to create healthy futures for local children, families, and community. 2013 marks the 10 year anniversary for this affiliate of the award-winning, Boston-based organization Express Yourself, Inc.
