One of the oldest Montessori Schools in the country, Milwaukee Montessori School classrooms look, feel and sound different from their counterparts in other schools. Students work together in classes that span a three-year age group, typically 3 to 6, 6 to 9, 9 to 12 and 13 to 14 years. This allows each child to learn at his or her own pace regardless of chronological age and allows students to learn from each other.

Attractive and intriguing materials are designed to show, rather than tell, the child how to accomplish a certain task. Students are free to choose their own work within limits and remain with that work as long as their interest is engaged. Such an environment fosters self-confidence and provides a base from which cooperation, understanding, tolerance and responsibility is learned.

Milwaukee Montessori School also offers before- and after-school childcare, as well as toddler care for children 18 months to 3 years. The early toddler programs offer music and art instruction and are replete with books and reading. Children are also taught how to count and recognize numbers and to take care of themselves and their environment.
