Our commitment has remained steadfast since our founding in 1971: to provide a preschool that gives your child a healthy developmental education experience. Family Involvement Our programs encourage your child’s inquisitive nature, creativity and independence while providing plenty of opportunities for group play. As a cooperative, we work hand-in-hand with you to make our school an amazing place of learning and fun. As part of the cooperative, we expect you to serve on a committee or our Board of Directors, and to assist in your child’s classroom several times throughout the year. Strong Relationships With a low adult-to-child ratio (1 adult / 6 children), our teachers develop strong relationships with your child. Early in the school year, we schedule a special “play date with the teacher”. A teacher will visit your child at home to play, talk and read—a chance to bond. This has become a special memory for many children—and for our teachers. Another favorite—your child will be designated “Child of the Day” several times throughout the school year—a chance to make decisions and lead the group. Curriculum We’ve all seen it—children learn best through play. So our classrooms promote self-confidence, competence, and self-worth through a combination of independent and group play. The constantly changing thematic units include things that are fun and allow for many corresponding hands-on activities involving basic reading, science and math concepts. Embedded throughout the daily activities and schedule are ample opportunities to learn one-to-one correspondence, counting, letter ,word and name recognition along with lessons in character development like sharing, taking turns and helping others. Our nurturing environment is ideal for fostering a positive early childhood school experience for your child and your family. Facilities Our spacious, light-filled rooms are well equipped for art, physical activity, creative and imaginative play, social interaction and quiet moments. We have a wonderful fenced outdoor play area and an indoor large muscle room to further develop gross motor skills and strengthen social skills involved in playing with others. Schedule of Classes
