Full time to part-time: where to start?!

Hi,
My wife has a masters in business and currently telecommutes/works remotely from home. She's been with the same company for several years and wants to make a change to part-time and NOT work from home anymore and NOT work with the same company. The company has been great. Just looking for a change. So, living in Milwaukee, where does one start in looking for a part-time job that doesn't pay less than $10/hr for somebody that has a masters? Thanks much!

  1. The place I work in Waukesha is hiring and pays well for a part-time job, but she would work close to 30/wk. Have her visit the company website at www.vectorsurgical.com to learn more. She's welcome to call the office to inquire about open positions. Anyone answering the phone can assist.

And if anyone else is interested: feel free to call the office to learn more.

  2. Check Milwaukeejobs.com, the majority of jobs available in the area are posted there and you can narrow the search multiple ways. Good luck!

  5. I agree with the above post, in that the direct sale business may likely be the solution for your family. Do an Internet search and you'll see how much press these companies have gotten as a REAL alternative for moms that want to be home, but still want an income AND some professional time. there have been specials on 20/20, the today's showetc . . .
IF this is something she decides might be of interest, my best advice is that she find a product that she not only loves, but that is affordable and can reach a wide variety of customers.
I found my success with Lia Sophia jewelry. 20 months ago my 2nd son was born and I haven't returned to work since. I am a division manager and make full-time money, working only a few days A MONTH. For a QUICK look at the monetary advantages check out my group website: www.elminigroup.com
Feel free to send me a private message if either of you would like more info.
    I truly LOVE my "job"
    Best of Luck!

  7. I had an excellent part time job when I put myself through college. I worked no more than 27.5 hours a week. (otherwise it was overtime) I made about 23,500 a year and had tuition reimbursement and better healthcare than I ever had with any full time job. However, I doubt that UPS is hiring now. It would be worth a shot looking into.
However, I recently started selling Pampered Chef and managing my own business. It's something that I can put on my resume for when I can re-enter the work force. I work as much as I want and when and make as much money as I'd like. I would suggest looking into it. I like PC over many other direct sales because EVERYONE HAS TO EAT! Few men are going to ever buy makeup or jewelry. It is whatever you make it. I am very happy with it right now. I never thought I would enjoy doing sales. I know others suggested it, but it's a good route.
