Kids' Modeling

Hi everyone!

I have two boys ages 3 and 10, and I have been looking around for "modeling" opportunities for them. And by modeling I don't mean a professional modeling industry but more on an amateur level. Advertisments of stores like Kohl's, Walmart, Children's Place, etc. I am a stay-at-home mom and would like to do something different and fun. Do you know anybody or any place that I could turn to without having to pay for classes or any upfront fees? Thanks.

Lusine

I worked at the corporate office and from what I know... they no longer hire models directly they now go through a local agency which I cannot remember off the top of my head...

  3. Contact Jennifer's and Ford Modeling Agency. I know they are reputable. My kids work for Jennifers and it has been great. You pay for a seminar that tells you how to do everything. It is run by Jennifers and it is after you already know they accepted you and it is only like $25 (several years ago). It is totally legit. Also, there is Lori Lins (not sure on spelling) on 76 by Southridge. At least they used to be there but I don't know anything about them.

  4. Thanks everybody. You've been very helpful. I have checked out the Jennifer's website and it sounds very legit. On my way to sending out the information package!
    Thanks!

  5. DON'T PAY FOR THAT SEMINAR...I SENT FORD MODELS A PIC OF MY CHILD AND THEY CALLED ME AND WENT OVER EVERYTHING WITH ME IN PERSON. AND GAVE ME ALL THE PAPERWORK AND INFORMATION I NEEDED...ALTHOUGH I NEVER DID IT...IT JUST SEEMED WAY TOO MUCH FOR MY 8MTH OLD AT THAT TIME TO RUN HER AROUND LAST MIN....FOR APPROX 2 HOURS SHOOT FOR THE MONEY AND SEPARATION THAT SHE WOULD HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH WITHOUT ME NOT BEING IN THE ROOM...MAYBE WHEN SHE IS OLDER...BUT JUST SEND THEM VIA EMAIL ALL THEIR INFO AND PICS AND THEY WILL GET BACK TO YOU

  7. We are with FORD, who does print ads for Kohl's and Bon-ton/Boston Store. No fees for seminars or headshots. My son is 2 and there is no seperation on shoots, I walk right into the studio with him! Pays well and every little bit he gets goes right into the savings account until he's in college. Plus, who doesn't love bragging rights when your little guy is in the paper?! :)

  8. If any of your friends have Etsy stores (and who doesn't these days?) see if they need some models. A friends of a friend is a photographer who is shooting for a few Etsy stores. I submitted my kids pictures. I figured if they liked their look/size they'd email. If not, no biggie.

No money for the shoot though (at least what the photog described) but I would get to keep all the pictures from the session.

  9. lusine, not sure why ninalee is saying not to pay for the seminar. Jennifer's has been great, totally reputable. I have 2 other friends whose kids work for them too and they would have great things to say also. The money has been great and over the years the kids have made quite a bit. We went last week and my dd made $60 for one hour of work (that includes drive time). Pm if you have questions.

  10. I recommend Jennifer's as well. I've worked with them for years on corporate video shoots and they are a great company. I'm sure they are the same with children's modeling. Ford and Lori Lins are the other two reputable agencies in Milwaukee. Ford used to be Arlene Wilson until recently.

  12. Hi Ladies,

I found your forum online when I googled kids modeling for Ford and Jennifers in Milwaukee. Your information above is very helpful. My 15 year old niece is interested in modeling after doing two fashion show for breast cancer foundation. She was a natural on the runway. I am a professional photographer and have gotten great photos of her.

Is it best to send professional photos or just snap shot photos to Jennifers or Ford?

Any advice is appreciated. My email address is kathy@kkphotography.com

    Thank you,
