Notes:Beachfront play gym is very new with full restroom facility and changing tables; inner park play gym is located in picnic areas 3/4. Restrooms in Lannon stone building on site. Covered picnic shelter. Quickest route: College Avenue east to South Chicago. Make a right, follow to Oak Creek Parkway, make a left and follow for a fair bit into the park. You'll see a sign for beach access. Keep following past golf course for inner park area.

Nearby you will find: Many fast-food options in South Milwaukee.

Rating "5": "There is so much to do at Grant Park you could visit every day for a week and not do it all. There are the beach, trails and a few playgrounds. One playground I haven't seen mentioned on here yet is the Wil-O-Way on the north end of the park. It's designed to be accessible for special-needs kids, but that means it's also great for younger kids. And there's hardly ever anyone there, so it's a great spot when you don't want to fight with the crowds." Heather, Milwaukee, August 2008

Rating "5": "Wow! Brand new playground for 2008. There are separate playgyms for toddlers and school-age children as well as a neat climbing playgym for multi-ages. The swings are close enough to enjoy but separate enough to keep little ones from wandering in the path of swinging children. The best things were the four spinning seats. The longer you sit, the faster they spin. Even parents had to try those out when we were there! This is a uniquely designed playground!" Kari S., South Milwaukee, June 2008

"There is also another part of Grant Park called Seven Bridges. This is an area of the park that is wooded. There are bridges and little rivers going through it and stone paths and stairs (don't try it with a stroller). One part of the path goes right into the lake! Wear not-so-nice clothing because this is a great place for princess and dragon play in the forest. This is also a great place for family pictures. There are some great stone benches that make for a good backdrops." Melissa G., Oak Creek, April 2005
