A Christmas Carol in West Bend

Description:

Why travel downtown to see "A Christmas Carol" when such a delightful alternative is available in the North Suburbs? The charm of this Christmas saga is that it is so sweet and homespun - with performances that rival those of larger theater companies... What makes it unique? Each costume is touched by the hands of a great grandmother who has contributed to the costuming for the past three years, costumes are made from recycled fabrics, old draperies, bedspreads, sheets and donated items - re-made, re-fashioned, and re-designed for each year's show. The sets are hand painted and overseen by a architect, insuring detail of the period is accurate. Over 80 feet of London streetscape grace theater walls. Theatrical performances are outstanding - Adult actors truly embrace their roles - as Scrooge, Nephew Fred, Bob Cratchit and London street people, making the tale truly sparkle. The Ghost of Christmas Past is played by a child - in just the way Dickens envisioned it. Without doubt, our six year old Tiny Tim is Wisconsin's most charming. This adapatation of Charles Dickens holiday classic is truly delightful in a most charming and family friendly way. There is no such thing as a bad seat in this tiny adapted theater space - virtually every seat is within arm's reach of the audience. Children will love that - and the fact that many of the characters are themselves children - complemented by exceptional adult actors from throughout the area. The quality really shines, and the show truly entertains - with special effects, and an outstanding look and feel that convincingly transports audiences each year to 1840's London. Join us for our CHRISTMAS CAROL performances December 6-16 at the West Bend Masonic Center, where there is ample free parking, warm cookies and cocoa during intermission at affordable prices (beginning at $1 per item) and ADA friendly seating - with truly stellar stage performances.
