Board Game Revival

Every Wednesday, I report on results from the Toy Tips Research Institute for my blog on amazon.com. I thought I'd share last week's topic here too because I received so many responses from readers. Everyone has a favorite board game and better yet, there are so many new board games out every year that can well be on their way to classics. Board Game Revival is making a comeback as more families pursue at-home summer activities and family fun. Games build connections and  promote social family interaction. They serve as parenting tools by teaching and reinforcing real-life skills including following rules, taking turns, thinking strategically and learning to lose.  The laughter, face to face conversation and quick response is what makes family time so fun during playtime. It is important that the youngest player is included while still holding the interest of the older players and keeping mom and dad entertained and alert. Some titles have versions that are Jr. which are great for families with younger children. Look for other choices that focus on preteens and teens to play with mom and dad.
